Making the World a Better Place For All of Us
Nancy Becher, Founder and President
I am the founder of Invisible Warriors, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting military women. I founded Invisible Warriors because I couldn’t look the other way.
I am not a veteran. I married one — Ed Becher, a Marine who gave 23 years and retired as a Master Sergeant. And then I kept walking toward the women in that world, the ones the country had mostly stopped paying attention to. I have been listening to them, sitting with them, and fighting for them since 2005.

You’ll recognize me. I’m the one in the bright wig, in the wheelchair, with the service dog at my side. I didn’t come to this work with credentials. I came with my eyes open and my mouth ready.
Invisible Warriors is my answer to what I saw: women who signed their names on the dotted line, said they’d give their lives for this country, and came home to silence. To dismissal. To a VA system that wasn’t built for them and a public that barely registered them. I started IW to build the sisterhood that should have already existed — a place where women veterans are seen, known, and never alone.
I don’t believe in fixing people. I believe in showing up for them. There is a difference, and it matters.

Carly’s dedication to this work is deeply personal. As someone living with a disability herself and with a family legacy of military service, she understands firsthand the courage it takes to persevere through struggles that often go unseen and the transformative power of knowing you don’t have to fight them alone.
Outside of her professional work, she finds strength, restoration, and community through Pilates, values she hopes to carry into her board service, supporting military women as they recenter, heal, and find their place in a community that truly understands.
