A recent study of over 500,000 military women revealed alarming connections between MST and various health conditions

More than 1 in 4 military women reported experiencing military sexual trauma (MST).

MST survivors showed
:
– 2x higher odds of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and substance dependence
– 5x higher odds of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
– Increased risk of cardiovascular, metabolic, immune, and pulmonary diseases

These findings highlight the urgent need for:
– Targeted support and interventions for MST survivors
– Increased awareness and prevention measures
– Comprehensive healthcare addressing both mental and physical impacts of MST
